Advent blessings! I hope all is well with you and yours during this time of preparation.
And this is my prayer: that your love may increase ever more and more. (Phil 1:9) With these words taken from the second reading of this coming Sunday liturgy we are introduced to the second week of Advent. The liturgical season of Advent calls us to prepare the way of the Lord, (Is 40; Mk 1) but how do we accomplish this task? To be sure, there is plenty that we can each do personally to make ourselves more ready for the coming of our Lord, but I think one of the most important is simply this to allow our love to increase ever more and more.
In an effort to help those who find themselves in a less fortunate situation than ourselves this year, the community of St. Theresa school will be aiding Toys for Tots and the Salvation Army Residence Center in their gift-donation initiatives. Above you will find a list of their needs. We ask that students bring their unwrapped donations to their homerooms any day this next week. We will collect the toys and other items and take them to their destinations next weekend (Dec. 13-14). Thank you, as always, for your generous support.
