To help students with diagnosed learning differences realize their own potential and teach them how to achieve academic success without modification to the college preparatory curriculum.
The program includes the following:
“All are Welcome.” St. Theresa Catholic School has a history of welcoming students from Houston and its surrounding areas, as well as from around the world. STCS students reflect the diversity of life including their learning styles. “To Teach as Jesus Did,” we seek to include students with special needs in our school to the extent that their needs can be met within the scope of the programs and available resources.
In 2012, St. Theresa Catholic School began a concerted effort to help students who found learning difficult. For more than a decade, STCS has accepted students with diagnosed learning differences, fostering their success in our school’s traditional college preparatory program.
Least restrictive environment (LRE) is an important part of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the U.S. special education law. LRE applies to a student’s entire education program, including services.
