Mock Trial

In this fall extracurricular activity, 8th Grade students assume the roles of prosecution and defense attorneys, plaintiff, judge, witnesses, and their courtroom figures to simulate the processing of a fictional lower court case. Key participants are coached by members of the Houston Bar Association and local law students for six weeks before the case is “tried” in an actual courtroom. Our 7th Grade students serve as the jury panel.
