My name is Ana Vazao. I am thrilled to serve St. Theresa's Catholic School as an Instructional Specialist, specializing in ELA. I hope to model effective strategies so that all children strive for excellence and internalize effective cognitive reading strategies.
I have 33 years of teaching experience both in the Catholic school setting and the public school system. I have served in many capacities: teacher, Reading Recovery specialist, intervention specialist, CCE volunteer, Eucharistic Minister and Professional School Counselor.
I am a proud product of a Catholic education. I attended parochial schools all my life from kindergarten, at St. Augustine’s Catholic School in New York, Our Lady of Victory Academy for high school, my Bachelor of Arts from Assumption University in Worcester, Ma in psychology and my Master’s in Education from the University of St. Thomas in Houston.
I was raised In New York, speak three languages and LOVE to travel. I visited all the continents except for two.
My faith and commitment to serve others formed the person I am today. My desire is to build lifelong learners that understand the importance of our relationship with God, our need to be of service to others and understand the importance of kindness.
Thank you, St. Theresa’s, so blessed to serve our great community!
