Born and raised in Austin, Texas and a resident of Houston for 38 years. Barbara and her husband have two children and five grandchildren. She is a retired elementary teacher from Katy ISD where she taught for 25 years. Bilingual in Spanish and English. Parishioner of St. Theresa Catholic Church for ten years where she has been a faith formation teacher for six years. Volunteers at Oak Forest Elementary Library for the past six years where grandsons attend.
