Beth Lowry Speck is a native Houstonian who attended St. Theresa School. Her family belonged to St. Theresa for many years during her childhood. Beth is a graduate of Duchesne Academy and holds three degrees in education from the University of St. Thomas. She began her career at St. Theresa teaching religion to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. She also worked as St. Theresa’s Director of Religious Education. Beth is a long-time educator in the Diocese of Galveston-Houston, having taught at St. Agnes, Duchesne Academy, and Cristo Rey Jesuit. She spent 35 years at Duchesne as a religion teacher, Campus Minister, Alumnae Director, and Admission Director. After she retired, she was asked to develop a program at Cristo Rey Jesuit in partnership with Discover U to give students summer opportunities to travel to colleges and countries and widen their high school experiences. Beth is married to her husband David, who also attended St. Theresa. They have two daughters, Laura and Emily, and one grandchild, Lucas. Beth is currently on the board of The Ninfa Laurenzo Scholarship Fund as the Treasurer and Managing Director. Beth hopes to bring her expertise to help St. Theresa Catholic School stand out as a great choice for families as they navigate today’s world.
