Thankful to the Lord, I am the new pastor of St. Theresa as of July 1, 2024. I come from St. Albert of Trapani in Houston, where I served 14 years as pastor in the 17 years as a priest, ordained in 2007. During seminary formation, I was privileged to spend the pastoral year here at this very parish in 2005. My family came from Vietnam in 1975 when I was six years old, and we settled in Houston in 1980. I attended Jersey Village HS and Texas A&M University and earned a BA in Business in 1991; worked in the job training industry and did advertising and marketing for the same company until I entered the seminary in 2000.
The quote from our patron, St. Theresa, “To love Jesus and to make Him loved” has always appealed to me. It is a simple yet profound expression of God’s love for each one of us and our discovery of that profound friendship to the point of sharing and living it in our lives. By God’s grace, I look forward to serving this parish and school to make it a place where Jesus is loved and proclaimed.
