My name is Helen Lucero and I am so excited to be part of the St. Theresa community as a second grade teacher. I am a graduate of the University of Houston Downtown with a Bachelor Degree in interdisciplinary Studies with an ESL Supplement.
I have been working with children both in elementary settings and after school programs. The schools I have student taught at are Ketelsen elementary 1st grade, Crockett elementary 2nd grade, and Harvard elementary 3rd grade. I worked at Harvard elementary for three and a half years and during this time I also worked the after school program as well. I was very fortunate to receive experience in the classroom grade levels PreKinder—5th grade during these years. I worked at St. Anne Catholic School as a substitute teacher, during this time I have gotten more experience with grade levels PreKinder-8th grade. I moved to Colorado summer 2018 to work at the YMCA of the Rockies, during this time I developed outdoor curriculum with ages 4-10.
My teaching philosophy is all children have the potential to thrive and succeed both in and out of the classroom through guidance and faith in God. I look forward to working with your children and in helping them become the best versions of themselves.
