Shelley Starr

Shelley Starr is a parishioner of St. Theresa Catholic Church and joined the St. Theresa School Board in 2022.  Shelley has previously served on school boards at St. Vincent de Paul School and St. Agnes Academy.  She is a graduate of Leadership Houston and a member of the Charity Guild of Catholic Women and the Order of the Holy Sepulchre.

Shelley is from Fort Worth and grew up attending Catholic schools.  She obtained her degree in Accounting from Texas Wesleyan. Professionally, Shelley worked in financial positions at a major airline. She also had a crisis management consulting practice. In her next career, Shelley was committed to making a difference in the Houston community, and for 25 years held various roles at Houston non profit, Casa de Esperanza and retired in 2021 as CEO of the organization.   

Shelley and her late husband, David Martin, are parents of two adult daughters and she especially enjoys being a grandmother.
